Hello church family!
This is Rob Kenyon, Family Ministries Leader at Family Life Church. We as a church team are excited to formally announce the introduction of a new Youth Ministry occurring every week starting Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 6:30 – 8:30! This study group will consist of Jr. High and High Schoolers and will be filled with worship, scripture study, topical study, small group discussion, prayer, and other relationship-building activities…oh yes, and there will be some snacks provided!
There is so much influence on our youth in our culture. As the world shifts its tactics to be more effective at reaching our youth for its own purposes, it is critical that we, as Christ’s church, encourage and equip our youth to withstand the pressures and temptations of the world and become more like our Savior through the process of sanctification.
Therefore, it is important that the Word of God – the Bible – be the foundation of any and all teaching done in this setting, and the love of Christ be what fills and overflows from the heart of this ministry. Furthermore, as a church, we believe that it is important that our youth be connected to the larger body of Christ. This connection provides support, encouragement, purpose, mission, and a sense of belonging to a family that we hope will carry with them as they graduate high school and enter adulthood. We believe this is done by relationship building through love and trust. We invite you to be a part of this process as we build this new youth ministry from the ground up. We welcome ideas, thoughts, concerns, and questions. Most importantly, we need your prayers.
It is important to note, we do not intend to raise your children for you, nor to isolate the youth and become our own church within a church. Rather, it is our heart’s desire to come alongside you and support you as you raise your children in the Lord, and to encourage the youth to become a key part of the mission of this church and this community. We have a strong desire to see each generation and the youth bond and develop a sense of trust and belonging during this challenging stage of life.
For further specifics regarding this new ministry, please see the attached document where you will find the ministry’s vision, goals, objectives, and enablers.
We would be thrilled if your youth would attend! And, if the Lord is leading you to be involved with youth, please do not hesitate to reach out to me so we can talk more about what God is placing on your heart!
Sincerely,
Rob Kenyon
