Jehovah M’kaddesh – the Lord who sanctifies
Jehovah Tsidkenu – The Lord Our Righteousness
Leviticus 20:8 8Keep my statutes and do them; I am the Lord who sanctifies
Leviticus 20:1-8: 1The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2“Say to the people of Israel, any one of the people
of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech shall surely be
put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones. 3I myself will set my face against that
man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given one of his children to Molech, to
make my sanctuary unclean and to profane my holy name. 4And if the people of the land do at all close
their eyes to that man when he gives one of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death, 5then I
will set my face against that man and against his clan and will cut them off from among their people,
him and all who follow him in whoring after Molech.6“If a person turns to mediums and necromancers,
whoring after them, I will set my face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.
7Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God. 8Keep my statutes and do them; I am the Lord who sanctifies you.
Genesis 1:26-28: 26Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have
dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all
the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27So God created man in his own
image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28And God blessed them.
And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over
the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Jeremiah 7:30-31 30“For the sons of Judah have done evil in my sight, declares the Lord. They have set
their detestable things in the house that is called by my name, to defile it. 31And they have built the
high places of Topheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into my mind.
Jeremiah 23:1-6 1 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares
the Lord. 2Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for my
people: “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them.
Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord. 3Then I will gather the remnant of my
flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they
shall be fruitful and multiply. 4I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear
no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord. 5 “Behold, the days are
coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king
and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 6In his days Judah will be saved,
and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.”
Jeremiah 23:16-22 16Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who
prophesy to you, filling you with vain hopes. They speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth
of the Lord. 17They say continually to those who despise the word of the Lord, ‘It shall be well with you’;
and to everyone who stubbornly follows his own heart, they say, ‘No disaster shall come upon you.’”
18For who among them has stood in the council of the Lord to see and to hear his word, or who has
paid attention to his word and listened? 19 Behold, the storm of the Lord! Wrath has gone forth, a
whirling tempest; it will burst upon the head of the wicked. 20 The anger of the Lord will not turn back
until he has executed and accomplished the intents of his heart. In the latter days you will understand it
clearly. 21 “I did not send the prophets, yet they ran; I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied. 22
But if they had stood in my council, then they would have proclaimed my words to my people, and they would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their deeds.
Acts 20:28-31 28Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has
made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. 29I know that
after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30and from among your
own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31Therefore
be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears.
Romans 3:20-25 20For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through
the law comes knowledge of sin. 21But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from
the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22the righteousness of God through
faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23for all have sinned and fall short of
the glory of God, 24and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
25whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s
righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26It was to show his
righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
John 3:16-21 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the
world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not
condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the
name of the only Son of God. 19And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people
loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20For everyone who does wicked
things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21But whoever
does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
Ephesians 5:6-12 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of
God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7Therefore do not become partners with them; 8for at one
time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9(for the fruit of
light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
11Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. 12For it is shameful even
to speak of the things that they do in secret.
