Living Your Life in 2021

“What is your life?  For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” James 4:14

Question to ask yourself: “Am I living with the end in mind?”

“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has comeI have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faithHenceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.”  2 Timothy 4:6-8

  • “Poured out as a drink offering…”

Question to ask yourself: “What alter am I pouring my life onto?”

  • “…the time for my departure has come.”

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. 24 But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.”Philippians 1:21-24

  • “I have fought the good fight…”

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer selfis wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”2 Corinthians 4:16-18

“…to fear the worst earthly loss would be like a millionaire fearing the loss of a penny—less, a scratch on a penny.” –Peter Kreeft

  • “…I have finished the race…”

“’Do your best to come to me soon. 10 For Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.”2 Timothy 4:9-10

Demas

            “Fellow worker” Philemon 1:24

            “Demas sends greetings” Colossians 4:14

“Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is very useful to me for ministry.”  2 Timothy 4:11

  • Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness…”
