Redemptive Arts? What does that mean?

The word redemptive means “the act of saving…”. In the Redemptive Arts ministry we try to utilize all of the “arts” as a means of saving people, bringing people into a better understanding of Jesus Christ, and as a form of worship.
So, whether it’s painting, poetry, drama, or music, we are using our talents and gifts for the glory of God. Worship is a way of living. Worship is how you live Monday thru Saturday.
So often we think of worship as the time of singing on Sunday mornings but it’s so much more than that! God longs for our worship. Our lives. Our adoration. Our gifts. Our time. So we are going to give these things to Him on a daily basis as an act of worship so that He can use them… Redemptively.

Any other requirements?

The Redemptive Arts team lives to chase after the things of the Father. With that one thought, we yearn to learn more about who He is and how we can, in turn, offer everything we have back to our Father. The Redemptive Arts team meets weekly (Wednesdays @6pm) for rehearsals. Those on the tech team or music team must be at Church on Sundays by 8am for soundcheck and prayer.
There is also a Quarterly required “all team” meet for the entire team to gather for CULTIVATE. Cultivate is our evening of spontaneous worship and prayer, along with fellowship and study.
Lastly, the Redemptive Arts team, whether you serve behind the scenes (media/Audio) or on the platform as a vocalist or musician, Sundays are meant to be an overflow of who we are throughout the week. Meaning we don’t just have our offering on Sundays or rehearse on Wednesday. Sundays are our natural overflow of how we live Monday thru Saturday.
If you’d like to learn more about how you may fit within the Redemptive Arts team, contact me below, and let’s have coffee!

What do I have to do?

We are always looking for skilled vocalists and musicians here at FAMILYLIFE.
Scriptures speak of being skillful in your giftings. One of which is Psalm 33:3, which says:
“Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.”

To be a part of the Redemptive Arts Ministry, you should first take the FAMILY LIFE 101 class, held regularly. Contact the Office to find out when the next course is. You do not have to be a Member of FAMILY LIFE, but you should know and agree about who we are and where we are going before applying for the Redemptive Arts Ministry team.

If you have taken the FAMILY LIFE 101 class and either became a member or signed to agree what we believe and where we are going and would like to sign up to be considered, fill the form out by clicking this button:
